In Season 2 of the HBO drama The Notebook, we’re finally seeing the first of two major characters, the titular narrator, meet their tragic end.
We’re also getting to see the beginning of what the writers of the film are calling “The Notebooks’ first “darker, more twisted” chapter.
But before that happens, The Notebooks writers are taking a breather, and the series’ creative team is taking a break from its epic third season.
“We’ve got a lot of fun things to do in the fall and winter and into the spring, and we’ll have a lot to do on the big screen in the summer and fall. “
We’re going to spend some time as the writers and the creative team and as the team in the studio,” HBO drama head Jonathan Nolan told EW, referring to the writers behind the upcoming HBO drama, “Game of Thrones.”
“We’ve got a lot of fun things to do in the fall and winter and into the spring, and we’ll have a lot to do on the big screen in the summer and fall.
So there’s going to be a lot going on, and that’s where we’re at right now.”
Nolan also talked about what fans can expect from Season 3, noting that he is “very excited” for fans to see what the season’s storylines will be.
“I’m very, very excited,” he said.
“There’s a lot in this season, and so much more than I’ve ever seen before.”
Nolan said the writers have also “changed the tone” of the series.
“In the first season, we were going for an ‘Oh, the world is a scary place and people are really evil,’ ” he said, adding that the show now leans toward an “I love you, but I’m a human being, too” attitude.
“It’s a very different kind of show this time around, where we actually love to make people laugh, and I think we’ve done that very well this season.”
Nolan added that season 3 will also see the return of two of The Note’s key supporting characters, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as the narrator and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Jr. as the protagonist, both of whom are set to return in Season 3.
While the writers may not have seen The Note books in full, Nolan said The Note will continue to be an ongoing series.
Nolan said “I want to give you a little hint,” adding, “There are going to probably be some surprises, and there are going a lot more twists.”
The series’ creator, Stephen King, also shared some of his thoughts on Season 3’s third season, saying he hopes viewers can “feel the difference between this year and the first.”
“There will be a great change,” he told EW.
“A lot of the things that we’ve learned in the last three seasons, they’ll all come back, and hopefully the characters can evolve, too.”
The writers also teased the first episode of Season 3 to be titled “The Beginning.”
“In this episode, we’ve got the first scene of Season 2, and it’s a big one,” Nolan teased.
“You’re going into the mind of the narrator.
“What a wonderful way to start this season. “
So, it’s really, really cool,” he continued.
“What a wonderful way to start this season.
You know, we can’t wait to get started.”
Nolan did not say if Season 3 would be available on Netflix, though it is already available to watch on HBO Go.
