Fears have been raised in Nanamo notaries office after the arrest of a suspect in a notary investigation.
The suspect was found to have notarised for three notary companies, but was later released on bail after police questioned him about the notarisation issue.
The Nanaimos notary commission has issued a notice to the Nanaimogon Police Department for the arrest and to arrest warrants for the two companies.
“The Nanamogon police department is aware of this and has initiated an investigation,” said Chief of Police Steve Lohmann.
“This has been an ongoing investigation, and the investigation is ongoing.”
A woman in her 40s has also been arrested in connection with the investigation.
No one has been arrested or charged in connection to the case.
Police said they will hold a news conference on Monday afternoon.
